Date-based tasks (like chain lube or a brake bleed) are scheduled ahead of time. Mileage-based tasks are checked whenever you log a ride, since future mileage can't be predicted in advance.
Deleting a bike removes its ride and maintenance history permanently, since everything is stored only on your device with no backup or account to restore from. Unfortunately there's no way to undo it.
